Are you a parent or a teacher who is looking for the latest in outstanding science trade books for children and teens? Then you should know about a yearly list produced by the National Science Teachers Association. It’s called “Outstanding Science Trade Books for Students K-12”. The list began in 1973 as “Outstanding Science Trade Books for Children” and was primarily targeted at grades K through 8. Beginning in 2002, the list was expanded to include high school as well.
You can access online the complete lists from 1996 through 2016 (which covers books published in 2015) at: http://www.nsta.org/publications/ostb/. The Rodman Public Library has most of the titles from the current list as well as past lists available for checkout (see links below).
